Business Plans are Dead: Unplan Your Business

March 16th, 2010 · No Comments · Ideas

The world is changing much too fast to be able to make longer term forecasts. In my younger days, I spent weeks or months writing business plans and seeking investment funding for businesses that I never did anything with. Great execution with a mediocre idea is far better than mediocre execution with a great idea.

It is easier and cheaper than ever to start new business initiatives so why waste your time planning?  Just do it and see what happens.

Ian Sanders and David Sloly created a great short ebook, Unplan Your Business.

“If you’re not risking too much money, too many people or staking or reputation, what’s to lose?”

Do you really need a detailed business plan for your next venture? You will accomplish more, faster if you just build something and put it out for the world to see.
